The YSR Congress Party (YSRCP) and the Telugu Desam Party (TDP) has recently engaged in a war of words. This started over some videos, that are showing condoms being distributed with party names and party symbols printed on the packets! Condoms are used for contraception and to prevent sexually transmitted infections. It’s good to spread awareness about this medical device but is this a correct way? Is this even appropriate?
Condoms have become a campaign tool for political parties in the state ahead of the upcoming Lok Sabha elections. Several videos are circulating on social media, which shows packets of condoms that are bearing the symbols of the ruling YSR Congress Party and the main opposition Telugu Desam Party (TDP). These condoms were seen being distributed among the voters by party cadres themselves . Both parties have condemned this. They are now blaming each other! According to latest reports, the condoms are included in a kits that is being distributed by party workers to homes. Meanwhile, several videos have surfaced on social media regarding this matter.
One video shared in an media page, shows that a person is giving a TDP condom packet to another person. He is saying that the intention behind the condom pack campaign is that if people use them and produce a lesser number of children, the government won’t have t spend a lot of money on their welfare and subsidies!
The party, YSRCP has also shared a video of the TDP condom. They had tagged TDP, Chandrababu Naidu, his son Nara Lokesh and Janasena leader Pawan Kalyan too. They were asking how low they are going to stoop for politics. They even asked if the TDP would start distributing Viagra tablets with the TDP name and symbols next.
