The Maharashtra government has ordered an auction of four plots of land, which are said to be properties of Dawood Ibrahim! These ‘Benami’ farmlands allegedly are the belonging to the mafia king, the underworld don-cum-terrorist Dawood Ibrahim. Ratnagiri district is said to be his native place. The e-auction will be conducted on January 5, 2024.

The e-auction will take place on January 5, 2024, as per a notice that was issued by the Ministry of Finance under various laws, in November this year. These include the Smugglers and Foreign Exchange Manipulator Act, of 1976, the NDPS Act, of 1985, and the Prohibition of Benami Property Transaction Act, of 1998.
These properties were measured and they are a total of 21,275 square meters. These properties are situated in the Mumbake village of Khed. This village is the birthplace of Dawood, who is almost 67 years old. He spent his early childhood before coming to Mumbai in the late 1970s. The government has kept the total reserve price of these lands around Rs.19 lakh, which is for all the properties.

However, according to local villagers, these properties have been deserted for several decades.
As the news of the auction spread among the locality, many locals were seen going around the property. One of those properties was seen surrounded by a boundary with the symbol of a Crescent Moon and Star engraved on the concrete wall, and thick overgrowth inside the plot.
