The earth has trembled twice one after the other in North India including Delhi-NCR. Two strong earthquake tremors were felt in Delhi-NCR, due to which people were seen running out of their homes in fear. The first earthquake was felt at 2:25 PM on Tuesday, whose intensity was 4.6 on the Richter scale. Whereas half an hour later the second shock of the earthquake was also felt. An earthquake of magnitude 6.2 occurred at around 2:51 PM. Nepal was the center of all this. At present, there is no news of any loss of life or property due to this earthquake.

According to the National Center for Seismology, the epicenter of this earthquake was in Nepal. Apart from Delhi, earthquake tremors were felt in many areas of North India including Uttarakhand and UP. However, earthquake tremors were felt 4 times in Nepal within just 40 minutes. According to the National Seismological Centre, four consecutive earthquakes were felt in the western areas of Nepal on Tuesday afternoon. The first earthquake of magnitude 4.6 struck western Nepal at 2:25 PM at a depth of 10 km, an NCS official said. A second tremor of 6.2 magnitude was felt at 2:51 PM. The third earthquake was felt at 3:06 PM and the fourth at 3:19 PM.

In April 2015, Nepal suffered a devastating earthquake of 7.8 magnitude. In which more than a thousand people died. More than eight lakh houses and schools were significantly damaged. It is noteworthy that Nepal’s geographical location is one of the most active tectonic areas of the world, making it a susceptible area to earthquakes.
