On Wednesday, three coaches of the North East Superfast train (12506) got derailed near Raghunathpur railway station in Bihar’s Buxar. The accident happened at Raghunathpur railway station in Buxar district when the train was en route to Kamakhya in Assam from Anand Vihar station in Delhi.

As per the latest reports, one coach completely overturned while two-three AC coaches got derailed. The train departed from Anand Vihar in Delhi at 7:45 am and it was on its way to Kamakhya Junction in Assam’s Guwahati.
“The accident relief vehicle along with the medical team and officials has left for the incident site. There has been no loss of life,”
East India Railway Company posted on X(formally known as Twitter). They also reported coaches derailed at 9:37 pm near Raghunathpur station. The exact reason for the accident is still unclear. No confirmed casualties have been reported so far and fortunately, No deaths have been reported till now. However, initially, 40 people have been admitted to the hospital. The Railways has also issued helpline numbers, and an accident relief vehicle along with the medical team and officials have arrived at the incident site.
Bihar Deputy CM Tejashwi Yadav reacted to the incident and said that he had spoken to officials, DM, and medical officers. “Alert has been issued and security forces, NDRF, and SDRF have been mobilized. Our priority is to save lives and provide treatment to the injured. A helpline number has also been issued,” he added.
Union Minister and Buxar MP Ashwini Kumar Choubey said “The incident has happened in our Buxar area, as some coaches of the North East Superfast train have derailed at Raghunathpur station. I have come to know that 3 coaches have derailed. I have also spoken to DG NDRF, Chief Secretary, DM, DG, and GM Railways. I have appealed to our workers and they are engaged in rescue operations. Medical teams have been sent. Rescue operation is going on. I am also going to Raghunathpur, Buxar.”
