Gurugram Cafe Manager Arrested because of DRY ICE?

Dry ice is a famous item nowadays! People as selling dry ice makes ice cream chocolates biscuits in restaurants and shops. But is dry ice even safe to consume? A shocking incident in Haryana’s Gurugram, has opened everyone’s eyes. Customers started vomiting blood after consuming “mouth freshener” that was actually just raw dry ice!

As per latest reports, 5 people have been hospitalized directly from a restaurant, after they consumed mouth fresheners! Those mouth freshness were given to them at a restaurant, but later it was confirmed by a doctor as dry ice. This veru unfortunate incident happened at a restaurant in Delhi NCR’s Gurgaon. Those five people have been hospitalized and two of them are said to be in a very critical condition. “We don’t know what they have mixed (in the mouth freshener). Everyone here is vomiting. They have cuts on their tongues. Their mouths are burning. Don’t know what type of acid they have given us,” said Ankit Kumar.

Ankit Kumar was one of those 5 customers. He has shared a video online, in that video, people can be seen screaming and crying in pain. They were given mouth freshener at the restaurant and after consuming it they felt a burning sensation in their mouth! They started vomiting blood! The catch is, those packets were not of mouth freshness but of dry ice. Dry ice is solid form of carbon dioxide (CO2) which stays at a temperature of approximately -78.5°C (-109.3°F). It is formed by compressing and cooling gaseous carbon dioxide until it reaches its solid state without passing through the liquid phase, a process called sublimation.

Dry ice so should not be consumed at any condition. Direct contact with dry ice can cause frostbite or burns due to its extremely low temperature. As per the reports a case has been filed against the restaurant owner. “A case has been filed against the staff and the restaurant owner. The manager of the restaurant has been arrested. Further investigation is going on,” Manesar police officer Surender Sheoran told .
