FIR has been registered against Dadasaheb Phalke Award winning actor Mithun Chakraborty at Bowbazar and Bidhannagar South police stations here. However, the officials of Kolkata Police Headquarters in Lalbazar have not yet decided on the exact date to call the actor for questioning. An FIR has been registered against Mithun Chakraborty for allegedly giving a provocative speech during a party program in North 24 Parganas district last month.
Mithun Chakraborty used provocative words
The actor recently shared the stage with Union Home Minister Amit Shah at a BJP party event in Kolkata and addressed party workers. It has been alleged in the FIR that some parts of Mithun’s speech was provocative, which could worsen the law and order situation.
A senior official of Lalbazar, on the condition of anonymity, said that at present we are not revealing the name of the person who has filed the FIR against the actor. The case is being investigated. The actor had come to Kolkata on October 27 and was present with Amit Shah at the Eastern Regional Cultural Center in Salt Lake, where he addressed party workers. The actor has not yet commented on the FIR registered against him.
BJP shared a sharp reaction
In West Bengal, the opposition BJP has expressed a sharp reaction to the FIR lodged against Mithun Chakraborty.In this regard, Bengal BJP President and Union Minister Sukant Majumdar said that the failed Chief Minister of the state has once again used the state’s sycophantic police and administration to gain political mileage by defaming and harassing famous actor and senior BJP leader Mithun Chakraborty.
