BJP MLA Shikha Chattopadhyay and Malti Rava Roy, who’s also a BJP MLA from Tufanganj in Cooch Behar district filed two separate complaints at Hare Street police station on Tuesday. The complaint was against the assembly case at Hare Street police station. After allegations of insulting the national anthem, this time allegations are of calling Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Home Minister Amit Shah ‘thieves’.
FIR is Filed on Tuesday. The move is viewed as a reply to another FIR that the state Finance Minister Chandrima Bhattacharya filed on Monday evening. That FIR was against the LoP and some other BJP MLAs for wearing T-shirts reading ‘Mamata thief’ during a public demonstration within the Assembly premises the same day.
“I would like to assure all these offenders that one day you will be taken to task for this disrespectful behavior. Just wait for the day. Till then remember one thing, when you spit at the moon, it falls back on your face!” Shubhendu Adhikari said. The important MLAs, whose names have been included in the FIR by BJP include Firhad Hakim, Aroop Biswas, Chandrima Bhattacharya, Sujit Bose, Birbaha Hansda, Pulak Roy, and Bratya Basu among others.
Although TMC deputy chief whip in the assembly Tapas Roy has said “I wonder why they lodged complaints against 60 of our lawmakers when all of us were protesting.” BUT MLA Rava Roy has alleged that TMC MLAs Ashima Patra and Mosarraf Hossain had used “filthy language” against Modi and Amit Shah. She also said speaker Biman Banerjee was present but hadn’t taken any steps.
