Indigo Flight to Guwahati Makes Emergency Landing in Dhaka, Indians Stranded

A survey has said, Your odds of being in a plane crash is one in 1.2 million, and the chance of that being fatal is one in 11 million. But these things happen. A recent Indigo flight that was going to Guwahati had to make an emergency landing in Dhaka Bangladesh. The flight was going from Mumbai to Guwahati but apparently, it was forced to land in Bangladesh’s capital Dhaka on Saturday. But what was the reason?

Why the Indigo flight had to make an emergency landing in Dhaka?

IndiGo flight, which was going to Guwahati from Mumbai, has made an emergency landing in Dhaka. The flight, 6E 5319 was going from Mumbai and its destination was Guwahati. But unfortunately, the Indigo flight could not make it to Guwahati because of bad weather and fog. This flight couldn’t land at Guwahati airport in Assam, so the flight got diverted towards Dhaka, which is the capital of Bangladesh. Dhaka is more than 400 kilometers away from Assam city.  The flight landed in Dhaka, Bangladesh instead of Guwahati because of bad weather and the heavy fog. But the good news is all the passengers are said to be safe.

But due to this reason, all the passengers of this plane remained troubled for hours. Former Mumbai Youth Congress President Suraj Singh Thakur was going to participate in Congress’ Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra in Imphal. He has told in a post on X that he was on the same flight from Mumbai to Guwahati, which got diverted to Bangladesh. For this reason, all the passengers on board the plane crossed the international border without their passports. He wrote, ‘I have been stuck inside the plane for 9 hours now. I left for Manipur (Imphal) for India Jodo Nyay Yatra. Let’s see when I reach Guwahati and then fly to Imphal.’
