Special Task Force of Kolkata Police with the help of the detective department, has arrested a person from Mumbai! The person is identified as Rajaram Rege, according to the police he tried to call the TMC Diamond Harbour MP and his PA after getting their numbers. He has been arrested for forcefully conducting recce around the residence and offices of the Trinamool Congress leader and nephew of CM Mamata Banerjee, Mr. Abhishek Banerjee.

“Today our officers arrested Rajaram Rege from Mumbai. He had visited Kolkata, stayed here, and conducted a recce of TMC MP Abhishek Banerjee’s offices and residence. He obtained the mobile phone numbers of Banerjee and his PA and tried to contact them,” the Kolkata police officers said. The officers also claimed that Rajaram had met Mumbai terror king David Headley earlier. They are suspecting that Rajaram had a plan with David, and he tried to attack Abhishek!
Kolkata Police on Monday has also said that it is related to a huge terror plot and has direct connection with the 2008 Mumbai attacks. They were planning something bigger than 26/11 in kolkata. Rajaram Rege, is known for his direct connection to the 26/11 terrorist attack accused David Headley. His presence in Kolkata raised high alert, the Kolkata Police took direct action by law enforcement, the police said.
Rege has been arrested and is taken into police custody in South Kolkata. There he had checked into a hotel. State authorities have explained that they are doing their best to identify into Rege’s every activities to uncover their potential plans and address any possible risk. According to the Kolkata police, Headley, the witness in the Mumbai attack trial in a Chicago court, had said also claimed that he had visited Shiv Sena Bhavan in Dadar, central Mumbai and had also met Rege!
