Nowadays we come across a lot of strange and funny news, and all credit goes to the internet. All these strange videos that suddenly go viral, sometimes scare us and sometimes make us laugh. A video like this has suddenly surfaced on the internet. The video, which is doing rounds on the internet, shows a family removing a television set from the Byju’s office! But why? Video went viral in seconds!
Parents said “take it back when you initiate the refunds”!
From 2021 to 2023, as many as 43,625 refund requests were submitted to Byju’s Tuition Centers. Parents have expressed anger over the quality and structure of the courses too. According to the viral social media post, the parents had initiated a refund request for an unused tablet and learning programme of BYJU. But weeks went after that, the office kept dealing with the delays.
The parents of the student were frastated and as the last option , the attempted to sort out the hurdles and they took matters into their own hands. The parents stormed into the Byju’s office, uninstalled a TV, and told the staff that they’d return it once they get their refund, the parents said “take it back when you initiate the refunds”! Internet users reacted to the viral post, calling it a ‘tit for tat‘ move. Some are really upset because of this parents behaviour, some are supporting them, others are making fun of the situation. Some has said jokingly that the parents forgot the set top box and remote.

But this incident has sparked some serious conversations about the customer service standards within the educational technology industry and about the complexities that are associated with refund procedures of them. It has also started discussions about the legality and appropriateness of the family’s actions. One user asked, “Father and son will play PlayStation after cancelling the subscription.” Another has commented, “BYJUs facing another loss of 45000 this fiscal year 24.” A third user has writen, “It is not clear if kid learnt anything from Byju’s, but he surely learnt barter system from parents.”
