BJP leader Purnesh Modi said that many local businessmen in his assembly constituency will give discounts ranging from 10 percent to 100 percent to celebrate PM Modi’s birthday. Businesses from various sectors including hotels, restaurants, clinics, jewelry, vegetable markets, and bakery will be included in customer discounts.

This is a voluntary decision of shopkeepers

Purnesh Modi said, ‘Every year in my assembly constituency, we work for the welfare of the people on PM Modi’s birthday. There are about 2,500 businessmen associated with different businesses in the area, who give huge discounts on their goods and shopping to the people here. Every shop has its plan. What discount to give, how much discount to give? This is their decision. All this is voluntary.’

Free rides in autos started on Monday itself

Regarding PM Modi’s birthday, the auto union in Surat said that they are joining this celebration. Union President Raju Bhandari said, ‘We will celebrate it as Seva Diwas, where individual auto drivers are giving free rides. Why not do it unitedly? So we will carry passengers for free. This will start from Monday 16 September, which is a day before Narendra Modi’s birthday.’
