Pran means life, and Pratishtha means establishment. The Pran pratishtha ceremony is about invoking the life of the idol. Pran Pratishtha is a common ritual in Jainism and Hinduism. It involves installing the god’s idol at a sacred place like a temple after sanctification

The process of Pran Pratishtha in Ram Mandir began with the arrival of the idol of Lord Ram at the temple. The idol then was brought to life through some symbolic actions according to Hindu rituals, which include a bath in milk and the application of fragrances. Then, the idol was carefully placed in the sanctum sanctorum. The head priest, who was overseeing the proceedings, then started his next job. He dressed the idol and let it sit while facing the east direction because this is auspicious in Hinduism. Then priests commenced the recitation of hymns and mantras and started various rituals.

This grand event saw the presence of 7,000 VVIP guests and devotees from across the nation. They include actors, sportspersons, industrialists, politicians, and many more celebrities from around the world. The Ram Mandir of Ayodhya is constructed in the conventional Nagara architectural style. The Ram Mandir compound is designed to span 380 feet in the east-west direction, with a width of 250 feet and an impressive height of 161 feet. The temple’s vertical structure consists of floors, each of the floors measures 20 feet in height. Every floor is supported by a remarkable ensemble of 392 pillars and adorned with 44 gates.
