Rahul Gandhi, The Congress leader surprised the public by making an unexpected visit to Anand Vihar Railway Station in Delhi on Thursday. Gandhi has often been interacting with common people and listening to their problems. A few months ago, the Porter community requested to meet Rahul Gandhi. The Congress party shades some images, Gandhi is seen sitting between a group of porters in red uniform and interacting with them in those images.
“People’s hero Rahul Gandhiji met his porter friends at the Anand Vihar railway station in Delhi today. Recently, a video went viral in which the Porter friends at the railway station had expressed their desire to meet him…Today, Rahul Ji reached among them and listened to them … Bharat Jodo journey continues,” the party said in a post on the former Twitter.
A video was posted by a new channel, in that video Gandhi can be seen wearing the red coolie uniform and carrying luggage. in another photo, Rahul Gandhi is seen to be seated with other porters and listening to them.
A porter said “We mentioned all our difficulties. Our workload has been reduced as lifts have been constructed. In 2008 Lalu Prasad Yadav was the Railway minister and had given us jobs. Some of our members did not get jobs then and now their children have grown up so we request the government to provide them with jobs. We don’t have proper accommodation facilities. We are 168 people here and we have also requested to increase our rates.”
