Lok Sabha Congress leader Adhir Ranjan Chaudhary got suspended. But not only him, a total number of 31 MPs were suspended from the winter session or Lok sabha. The speaker of Loksabha has suspended these MPs because of protesting and not being decent.
Congress leader Adhir Ranjan Chaudhary has been suspended from the Lok Sabha on the last day of the monsoon session!
Union Parliamentary Affairs Minister Pralhad Joshi has tabled a motion about Chowdhury’s suspension explaining his behaviour. He was alleged to be in a disruptive mannerless behaviour when Prime Minister Narendra Modi and members of the Union cabinet were addressing the House. These happened during the Monsoon Session earlier this month.
Adhir has told the committee, that he never intended to hurt anybody’s feelings and Mr Chaudhary also expressed deep regrets for certain behaviour made by him. Me. Adhir also said that he didn’t want to insult PM Narendra Modi. “I didn’t mean to offend anyone. I have not said anything wrong. Modi ji is sitting ‘Nirav’ on the Manipur issue, which means sitting silent. ‘Nirav’ means to be silent. My intention was not to insult PM Modi” he said.
Mr Choudhary got suspended for “repeated misconduct”!
“The Committee has adopted a resolution to revoke the suspension of Adhir Ranjan Chowdhury from the Lok Sabha. The resolution will be sent to the Speaker as soon as possible,” said a committee member. The suspension of Mr Adhir was done by Parliamentary Affairs Minister Pralhad Joshi.
“This House having taken serious note of the gross, deliberate and repeated misconduct of Adhir Ranjan Chowdhury in utter disregard to the House and authority of Chair resolves that the matter of his misconduct be referred to Committee of Privileges of the House for the further investigation and report to the House and Adhir Ranjan Chowdhury be suspended from the service of the House till the Committee submits its report,” Mr Joshi said.
