Suvendu Adhikari Suspended from West Bengal Legislative Assembly

West Bengal Legislative Assembly Tuesday suspended BJP leader and The Leader of Opposition, Suvendu Adhikari from the Winter Session for creating a ruckus in the House! Subhendu Adhikari opposed the state’s opposition to Mamata Banerjee’s Singur movement. He claimed that people had no support in the Singur movement.

Suvendu Adhikari: ‘Singur movement did not have people’s support’!!

Last Monday, The Opposition leaders held a protest meeting at Buro Shanti Ground in Singur, Hooghly. At the meeting, Shuvendu said bomb-blusting things about Singur. He said, that in 2006, most of the people of Singur took checks as landowners. Mamata Banerjee came to Singur with a few bargains to oppose the industry. It is to be noted that Subhendu Adhikari was an active member of the Trinamool Congress at that time. Speculation has started with his comment.

According to the BJP MLA Subvendu, Singur’s fight did not have the support of the common people. Mamata Banerjee has turned Singur into a crematorium while taking advantage of former Bengal Chief Minister Buddhadev Bhattacharya. According to him, she took advantage of the generosity of Buddhadev Bhattacharya and the gentleness of great people like former governor Gopalkrishna Gandhi. And that’s how the leader of this state destroyed the chance to get a big industry in West Bengal. Singur has been destroyed by the current Chief Minister.

“Mamata drove out Tata while taking advantage of Buddhababu’s generosity”!!

Subvendu Adhikari made this comment while attending a campaign meeting of BJP’s ‘Kolkata Chalo’ program in Singur on Monday evening. He said, while trying to satisfy one’s ego, the unemployed people of Singur have lost everything.

Standing in Singur that day, Subhendubabu said, “In 2006, most of the people in Singur took cheques. Mamata Banerjee came here with a few bargains to oppose the industry. The fight between Singur and Nandigram is not a single fight. Singur’s fight did not have the support of the common people.”

This opposition party leader also raised a question about himself and said, “You can ask, you were in that party then, why didn’t you protest? I say, there was no chance of protest. I am revealing untold information today. It took Eight years to settle the panchayat. Called me every day. I was the hero of Nandigram then. I haven’t come for a single day. But I had to come one day. While leaving, I settled the decorator’s bill of 1 lakh 20 thousand taka and went home. This devastation in our Singur had no support from the people of any part of West Bengal. Not even today. Singur’s bakers perished in satisfying one man’s ego.”
