A shocking case has come to light from the Bank of Baroda branch located in the Moradabad district of Uttar Pradesh. Here, termites destroyed the jewelry, and Rs 18 lakh was kept in a woman’s locker. The woman had kept jewelry and money for her daughter’s wedding in the locker of the Ashiana branch of the Bank of Baroda. This came to light when the bank called the woman for the renewal of the locker agreement and KYC. When the woman opened the locker, the notes and jewelry worth Rs 18 lakh kept in a plastic bag had been eaten away by termites. After which the woman lost her senses. When the woman complained about this to the bank manager, there was a stir.
According to the information received, Alka Pathak, a resident of Ashiana Colony, had kept jewelry and Rs 18 lakh in the bank locker in October 2022 for her daughter’s marriage. On Monday, he was called by the bank for the renewal of the locker and KYC update. When he opened his locker he was shocked. Termites had eaten away Rs 18 lakh kept in a plastic bag. When he complained about this to the bank manager, there was a stir. At present the entire matter is being investigated. But as soon as the matter came to light, it spread like wildfire.
Alka Pathak said that she had kept Rs 18 lakh and some jewelry in her locker for the marriage of her second daughter in October 2022. He said that he did not know that money was not kept in the locker. Alka Pathak said that the bank manager has said that an investigation is being done.
