In a sudden attack on Monday, the convoy of Manipur Chief Minister N Biren Singh was attacked by multiple armed militants. The incident took place in Kangpokpi district. Tension and shock has graveled the people from Jiribam to Imphal. According to the latest news, the assault left a Manipur Police security officer as well as a civilian driver injured. The real motive behind the attack hasn’t been discovered yet, it is still under investigation. But as per reports it adds to the growing list of violent incidents in the state.

The shocking incident also got captured on video and in that video the sound of multiple gunshots rang out, with huge panicked voice that were shouting in the background. This footage has surfaced online, it is highlighting the severity of the attack and the ongoing unrest in the region. The Chief Minister’s office had informed the Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) about the deteriorating security situation not once but multiple times . Although, the lack of adequate response has now led to this dire outcome, raising serious questions about the efficiency and responsiveness of the local police forces.
Reports say that despite numerous intelligence inputs and warnings issued by the Chief Minister’s office over the past six months, but the Manipur Police did not take any action to act on the information or to mitigate the escalating violence.
