The Vande Bharat Express is a semi-high-speed train service operated by the Indian Railways. It is known as the fastest train in India, with a top speed of 180 km/h (112 mph). This is a medium-distance train service which connects cities, that are less than 10 hours apart from each other. According to the Indian Express, this train has been serving freshly prepared food to all passengers since its inauguration, which was on June 27, 2023. But recently, a video of this train has gone viral. In that video, spoiled foods were shown, that were served to passengers in this premium train!
Spoiled food was served in Vande Bharat Express?
According to the rules, Passengers who confirm tickets and choose the option of food services during booking will get meals. But what if after even a confirmed pre-order you get rotten food? Yes, this is the case. A passenger has recorded the video of the meal they were served and the video of the smelly rotten food is going viral. Finally, the video caught the eye of IRCTC. Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation or IRCTC imposed a fine of Rs 25,0000 on the service provider.
However, in that video which went viral, passengers are seen asking the staff to take the food back. It was also seen that the vendor staff was taking the plate back. The man who posted this video on Twitter is named Akash Keshari. Tagging Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnav, he wrote in his post, “Sir, I was traveling from New Delhi to Banaras by train number 22416. The food that was served to us on this train smelled very bad. The quality of the food was also very bad. Please return all my money. These vendors are tarnishing the Vande Bharat brand name.” This is the first time, that Vande Bharat Express has been accused of serving bad food, hope this will be the last.
