Army Vehicle Falls into Ditch in Poonch: 5 Soldiers Dead, 10 Injured

A vehicle went off the road near the Line of Control (LoC) in Poonch district on Tuesday evening. During this, five army personnel died. At the same time, five were injured. This accident happened during operational duty in the Poonch sector. Rescue operation is still going on. The injured personnel are being given medical treatment. According to the police, at 5.40 pm, an army vehicle of 11 Maratha Light Infantry which was going from Neelam Headquarters to Balnoi Ghoda Post on the LoC, crashed near Ghoda Post.

It is being told that the vehicle fell into a ditch about 150 feet deep. Due to this, 10 soldiers including the driver were seriously injured. A Quick Action Team (QRT) of 11 Maratha Light Infantry and a police team from Mankot have reached the spot. Rescue operation has been started here.

Many accidents have happened before this too.

Last month, in a similar accident, a vehicle slipped off the road and fell into a ditch in Rajouri district of Jammu and Kashmir. One soldier died in this. Another person was injured. In this accident that took place on November 4, near Badog village of Kalakot, Naik Badri Lal and Sepoy Jai Prakash were seriously injured. They were immediately admitted to a hospital. Lal died here. Along with this, on November 2, a car slipped off a mountain road in the Reasi district of Jammu and Kashmir. During this, three people including a woman and her 10-month-old child died. Three people were seriously injured.
