
Donald Trump has taken the oath of office as the 47th President of the United States, marking the beginning of his second term. In this new term, he is expected to reshape American institutions. Before Trump, JD Vance took the oath as the Vice President of the United States. Trump made history by winning the elections held in November last year, securing a second term as the nation’s top leader. Prime Minister Modi congratulated Trump on this achievement.
Due to the biting cold, Trump’s swearing-in ceremony was held indoors at 12 PM local time. The moment Trump took the oath, the “Trump Era” began once again in America. After the swearing-in, a salute of seven cannons was also given.
Trump Set to Break New Records After Becoming President
After taking the oath of office, Trump is expected to make new records. Within hours of assuming office, Trump is likely to sign more than 100 executive orders, addressing issues like immigration, climate, energy policy, and diversity initiatives within the federal government.
PM Modi Sends Congratulations
Upon Trump’s re-election as the President of the United States, PM Modi congratulated him. In a post on social media platform X, Modi wrote, “Congratulations to my dear friend President Donald Trump on taking the oath as the 47th President of the United States! I look forward to working together once again to benefit both our countries and shape a better future for the world. Wishing you a successful tenure ahead!”
Key Figures Attend the Ceremony
Foreign Minister S. Jaishankar traveled to the United States to represent India at Trump’s swearing-in ceremony. He expressed his honor in attending the event and representing India. Many dignitaries, including former President Barack Obama, Trump’s associate and friend Elon Musk, and Meta co-founder Mark Zuckerberg, also attended the ceremony.
