According to the latest reports, two high-speed trains have collided head-on in northern Italy. This incident happened on Sunday night. Almost 17 people got injured brutally said reliable reports. The collision happened on the route between Bologna and Rimini, between the cities of Faenza and the commune of Forli.
The accident happened on the railway line connecting Bologna and Rimini. Surprisingly the collision took place at very low speeds. An investigation currently going on thoroughly to determine the exact reason for this incident and if there are any potential responsibilities.
At least 17 people got hurt. But thankfully those are just minor injuries, primarily bruises. Images, which were released by the fire department showed that the fronts of the trains got collided. But the regional train’s front remained largely intact. Both trains were being operated by Trenitalia, Italy’s national train company.
Italy’s Minister of Transport and Deputy Prime Minister Matteo Salvini expressed that he is gonna closely monitor every detail of this incident. A spokesman of national train operator Trenitalia told the reporters that the injured had minor injuries. “This was a very low-speed collision,” he said. It is being told that being on a low speed saved both trains from a huge accident.
Just three months ago, five railway workers died in a train collision in Italy. On August 31, they met with an accident. They were busy with renovation work on the Milan-Turin railway line.
Before that another accident near a southern Milan station caused the death of two railway workers’ and 31 passengers got injured when a train got derailed.
