The factory owner and his servant died after a massive fire broke out in a bread and rusk factory in Sarojininagar Ganga Nagar in Lucknow, the capital of Uttar Pradesh, on Saturday evening. According to media reports, ten people were in the factory, including the owner, at the time of the accident.
Seeing the fire, many people came out to save their lives, but the factory owner and a laborer remained trapped inside. On the information of the local people, the fire department team reached the spot. After controlling the fire with the help of a hydraulic platform, the factory was searched. Two dead bodies were found inside.
The factory was closed for one and a half years and was restarted three months ago. Akhilesh Kumar, a resident of Alambagh Mawaiya, has a bread and rusk factory named Sweety Food in Ganga Nagar, Sarojininagar. There were ten workers, including the factory owner, at around four o’clock on Saturday evening. The factory was closed for one and a half years and was restarted about three days ago. The work of cleaning and installing grills was going on inside. In the evening, suddenly flames broke out from the factory. Smoke filled all around. The workers present in the factory ran away to save their lives.
Factory owner Akhilesh got trapped inside. Labourer Abrar, who was working in the basement, could not come out. CFO Mangesh Kumar said that as soon as the information of the accident was received, FSO Sumit Jadoun from Sarojininagar Fire Station reached the spot with the team. About a dozen fire tenders were also dispatched from different stations to douse the fire. Initial investigation revealed that chemical containers were kept on the first floor of the factory. After the explosion, a fire broke out in them.
ADCP South Amit Kumawat said that information was received about factory owner Akhilesh and the labourer being trapped inside. Firefighters tried to go inside wearing breathing masks, but were unsuccessful due to dense smoke and strong flames. The fire could be controlled after about two and a half hours of effort.
