Massive earthquake in Nepal-Tibet border; Whole West Bengal is shaken!

Kolkata woke up to a Severe earthquake at seven in the morning. When the city dwellers woke up early on Tuesday morning in the winter, Kolkata and its surrounding areas were shocked. Not only South Bengal, North Bengal also felt strong tremors. Common people took to the streets in fear. Trembling is felt for about 1 minute. Widespread tremors were felt not only in West Bengal but also in neighboring states of Bihar.

Tremors were felt in the districts of South Bengal including Kolkata, North 24th Pargana. On the other hand, people of Jalpaiguri, Siliguri, Darjeeling, and both of Dinajpur felt the tremors of this earthquake.

Nepal is the source of earthquake

According to the sources, India, Nepal, Bhutan, Bangladesh, even China were shaken by this earthquake. From the tremors it can be estimated that the magnitude of this earthquake is very high on the Richter scale. It is known that the source of the earthquake was Nepal. The magnitude of the rating scale was 7.1. According to news agency ANI, the source of this tremor is 93 kilometers north-east of Lobuche, Nepal. Depth 10 kilometers. Another earthquake of magnitude 4.9 occurred at 7:07 AM IST, with its epicenter at latitude 28.68 degrees North and longitude 87.54 degrees East, at a depth of 30 kilometers.

The extent of damage caused at the source is still unclear. But Nepal has recently experienced huge losses due to earthquake. 10 years ago i.e. in 2015, Nepal was shaken by an earthquake of 7.8 magnitude. A large part of that country was destroyed.
