Omaxe to Invest ₹2,700 Crore in Modernizing Bus Terminals Across Uttar Pradesh!

In a major move to boost public transport infrastructure, real estate giant Omaxe Ltd has announced a ₹2,700 crore investment to upgrade six key bus terminals in Uttar Pradesh. The company made the announcement via a regulatory filing on Friday, confirming that the Uttar Pradesh State Road Transport Corporation (UPSRTC) has awarded the project under a public-private partnership (PPP) model.

Upgrading Key Bus Terminals

The six bus terminals set to be modernized are located in Ghaziabad, Lucknow (Gomti Nagar), Prayagraj, Kaushambi, Ayodhya, and Lucknow (Amausi). This project aims to enhance not only the transport experience for millions of passengers but also integrate modern commercial spaces into the terminals, creating a blend of convenience and business opportunities.

Work to Be Led by ‘BeTogether’ Subsidiary

Omaxe will carry out the upgrades through its newly established, wholly-owned subsidiary, ‘BeTogether’. The company plans to integrate contemporary infrastructure with heritage-inspired architectural designs at each terminal. The goal is to improve passenger comfort, increase commercial space, and support Uttar Pradesh’s growing transport needs.

State-of-the-Art Features at Each Terminal

The modernization plans involve over 45.59 lakh square feet of saleable space and 70.80 lakh square feet of total built-up area. The upgraded terminals will feature an automatic ticketing system, digital displays with real-time schedules, air-conditioned waiting lounges, charging stations, escalators, lifts, and enhanced security measures.

Beyond transport, the project also includes retail spaces, food courts, banquet halls, studio apartments, office areas, and ample parking. To top it off, each terminal will have EV charging stations, ensuring the facilities align with modern, sustainable transport trends.

Impact on Public Transport and Local Economy

Mohit Goyal, founder of BeTogether and Managing Director of Omaxe Limited, expressed that the modernization of these bus terminals is a significant step in improving urban connectivity and infrastructure. He added that these projects will not only enhance public transport facilities but also provide new opportunities for businesses and local communities, creating a vibrant, integrated space for both transport and commerce.

With this massive investment, Omaxe aims to redefine the future of public transport in Uttar Pradesh, making it more efficient, convenient, and commercially viable for the region’s growing needs.
