In Ajmer, Rajasthan, unknown assailants placed two cement blocks weighing 70 kg each on the railway track. An attempt was being made to derail a goods train by placing these blocks. Despite hitting the cement blocks, the train managed to continue its journey without any damage.
There has been a stir in the area after this incident. According to the information, the incident happened on Sunday night at around 10.30 pm. However, no untoward incident occurred. Railway officials gave this information on Tuesday. A complaint has been lodged by the railway employees regarding this incident. After receiving the complaint, the local police has registered an FIR under the Railways Act and Prevention of Damage to Public Property Act.
A North Western Railway official said, “Some miscreants placed two blocks of cement on the track in the dedicated freight corridor on Sunday, which were hit by a goods train. But nothing untoward happened.” Initially the employees had received information that a cement block was placed on the track. When the spot was searched the block was found broken. Meanwhile, a second block was also found at some distance on the same track. Police have started investigating the incident.
News agency PTI quoted the police commissionar as saying, “It is a matter of concern that there are some people and organizations who, in the greed for power, want riots and anarchy in the country. Strict action has been taken against such acts and will be prevented in the future also.” Strict action will be taken.”
