Congress party slams the Union Budget 2024: Rahul Gandhi called it “Congress Manifesto”!

Rahul Gandhi called the budget as “kurshi bacchao” budget

Opposition leader Rahul Gandhi criticized Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman’s Union Budget 2024. He called this budget a “kurshi bacchao” budget. The Congress leader said that the Finance Minister’s budget document has been copied from the election manifesto of the Congress party. In a post on Twitter (earlier on Twitter), the Congress leader said this is a “kurshi bacchao” budget.

He alleged that empty promises have been made to them at the expense of other states to please allies, no relief has been given to common Indians to favor favorites, and copy-pasting from Congress manifestos and previous budgets has been done.

Shashi Tharoor on the budget

Congress leader Shashi Tharoor described the Union Budget 2024 as “disappointing”. He said that no important issue was addressed in the Finance Minister’s speech. Tharoor said nothing was heard about the problems of the common man and there was no mention of MNREGA.He welcomed the decision to abolish angel tax. He said that he had recommended this to Arun Jaitley five years ago. The Congress party attacked the budget speech, saying it was more focused on show rather than action. The party alleged that the “copy-paste government” has left many things unchanged from the Congress election manifesto.

The Congress party said in a post that the government has acknowledged that “mass unemployment is a national crisis” and Budget 2024 is full of political compulsions. Shiv Sena’s Priyanka Chaturvedi said that this budget is a way to save the BJP for the next five years.
