Hemant Soren has become the Chief Minister of Jharkhand for the third time. He took oath once again on Thursday. Champai Soren resigned from the post of Chief Minister after the India Alliance meeting on Wednesday. Hemant Soren was recently released on bail. Hemant Soren resigned from the post of Chief Minister after being arrested by the Central Investigation Agency on January 31. After his resignation, Champai Soren became the CM of Jharkhand.
Jharkhand Governor CP Radhakrishnan administered the oath of office and secrecy to Hemant Soren at the Raj Bhavan. JMM had said earlier in the day that Governor CP Radhakrishnan has invited Hemant Soren to form the government in the state and he will take oath as Chief Minister on July 7. The JMM-led alliance later decided that Soren would take oath as Chief Minister today (Thursday). Champai Soren resigned from the post of Chief Minister on Wednesday and Hemant Soren, who was released on bail in a money laundering case, staked a claim to form the government.
He became CM for the first time in 2013. After this, in 2019, the JMM-Congress-RJD alliance contested the elections under the leadership of Hemant Soren and he became CM for the second time. Hemant Soren will be the third leader to take oath as CM three times in Jharkhand. Before this, his father Shibu Soren, and BJP’s Arjun Munda have taken oath as CM three times each.
