A case of murder has been registered against Bangladesh cricket team all-rounder Shakib Al Hasan. Rafiqul Islam has filed this case for the murder of his son on August 7. It also includes the names of former Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina and 154 other people.
According to a report in Dhaka Tribune, the case has reportedly been filed by Rafiqul Islam, whose son Rubel was killed amid the ongoing protests in Bangladesh on August 7. The report said that Rubel was part of a rally held on the Ring Road in Adabor and it was here that he was shot in the chest and stomach.
Rubel died in hospital
He was taken to hospital after the incident, but died on 7 August. Shakib was made the 28th accused in the case registered at Dhaka’s Adabor police station, while popular Bangladeshi actor Firdous Ahmed was the 55th accused. Both of them were former Awami League MPs in Parliament.
Case registered against Sheikh Hasina and 154 others
According to the report, along with former Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, 154 other people are also named in this case. Apart from this, about 400-500 unknown people have also been accused. Meanwhile, the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) on Wednesday appointed former captain Farooq Ahmed as its president following the resignation of Nazmul Hasan, a close aide of the former prime minister.
