The first glimpse of the Raja of Lalbagh has come to the fore for the devotees in Mumbai before the Ganesh Utsav. The devotees saw the first glimpse amid the drums and dance. During this time a large crowd of people was seen. The devotees welcomed the king of Lalbagh amidst cheers. It is noteworthy that this time Ganesh Utsav is starting from 19th September. This festival will continue for 10 days and will become like Ganesh Utsav on 28th September. Its distinct effect is visible all over Maharashtra. Raja of Lalbagh is considered to be the most popular Ganesh Mandal in Mumbai. Big celebrities come here to have the darshan of Lord Ganesha. It was started in 1935 by the Kolis of Chinchpokli. These are located in the Parel area of Mumbai.

The crowd of people is highest in the circle of Raja of Lalbagh. It is believed that during this festival which lasts for ten days, everyone from everyday to special is desperate to glimpse them. It is said that Lord Ganesha fulfills every wish of the devotees who visit here. Here, during the Ganesh Utsav, a long queue of people is seen to get the darshan of Ganpati Bappa. Idol immersion is done on the tenth day. A large number of people participate in this also.

Let us tell you that last year BMC imposed a fine on Raja Public Ganeshotsav Mandal of Lalbagh. In 2022, a penalty of Rs 3 lakh 66 thousand was imposed on Raja Sarvajanik Ganeshotsav Mandal of Lalbagh. This fine was imposed for potholes. 53 potholes were dug on the footpath and 150 on the road. BMC had imposed a fine of Rs 2000 for each pothole. Every year, permission has to be taken from Mumbai Municipal Corporation to prepare the pavilion.
