The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has released the annual contract (Central Contract) list of players. In which the names of Team India players Shreyas Iyer and Ishan Kishan are not there. Both of these players did not participate in the domestic cricket Ranji Trophy. Because of this now the board has punished him. There were also reports that the board is very angry with these two.
Iyer and Ishan Out
Sryeash has been ruled out from the Ranji tournament due to his back spasm and has been away from the field to recover before the IPL. On the other hand, Ishan has been away due to personal reasons. But it has been reported that he is being prepared for the upcoming IPL with Hardik Pandya.
Rinku Singh Include
Iyer had a Grade B BCCI contract and Kishan had a Grade C contract with the BCCI. BCCI secretary Jay Shah has already warned the A-Lister cricketers that their prioritization of IPL over domestic cricket might cause them harm in the long term. The BCCI has passed judgment on this matter. Both the players have been ruled out of the contract.
BCCI has included 30 players in its contract this year. This is from October 1, 2023, to September 30, 2024. The board has started a new tradition this time, in which fast bowling contracts have also been given separately. Akash Deep, Vijaykumar Vaishyak, Umran Malik, Yash Dayal, and Vidwath Kawerappa have been included in this list.
