Wherever Dhoni goes, he dominates. The situation in IPL is such that no matter on which ground the match is played or in which opponent’s house, Dhoni’s presence creates its own fan base for CSK there. Then he went there to play less as a guest of the host team and started feeling more like the home of Dhoni and CSK. A similar scene was seen in Ahmedabad, the home of Gujarat Titans. CSK fans were sitting all around the stadium dressed in yellow. But, meanwhile, a fan dodged the security cordon and reached Dhoni on the field. This happened when Dhoni came to bat.
While breaking the security cordon of Narendra Modi Stadium, the fan reached Dhoni and fell at his feet. He touched his feet first. After this, Dhoni picked him up and was seen walking with his hand on his shoulder for some time. Meanwhile, security guards also reached there. They started taking him away but he was not ready to leave Dhoni. Perhaps he was also afraid that he might get beaten again. There should be no kicking, punching or slapping. But, nothing like this happened with Dhoni’s fan.
Fan entered the field to meet Dhoni, saved from getting beaten
This has happened before in the case of a fan breaking the security cordon and coming to meet his favorite player on the ground. He has been seen getting kicked, punched and slapped. This has happened before in the case of Virat Kohli only. During IPL 2024, when a fan of Virat Kohli entered the ground to meet him at the Bangalore ground, he was beaten severely. But, it seems Dhoni saved anything like this from happening with his fan.
Dhoni dominated even in CSK’s defeat
As far as the match played between Gujarat and Chennai Super Kings is concerned, CSK had to face defeat in it. However, Dhoni’s bat played well even in the lost match. He batted at a strike rate of more than 236, which included 3 sixes. Dhoni remained unbeaten till the end. Dhoni also received the Striker of the Match award for the highest strike rate in the match.
