With the help of fast bowler Mohit Sharma’s three wickets, Gujarat Titans defeated Chennai Super Kings by 35 runs and kept themselves in the race for the playoffs. Batting first, Gujarat scored 231 runs for three wickets in 20 overs with centuries from Shubhman Gill and Sai Sudarshan. In reply, Gujarat’s bowlers performed brilliantly due to which Chennai team could score only 196 runs for eight wickets in 20 overs.

For Chennai, Daryl Mitchell scored 63 runs and Moeen Ali scored 56 runs. There was a partnership of 109 runs for the fourth wicket between these two batsmen.But after Mitchell’s dismissal, Chennai’s innings once again faltered and could not recover.Mahendra Singh Dhoni, who landed at number eight, returned unbeaten after scoring 26 runs in 11 balls with the help of one four and three sixes.
