Mumbai Indians will face Rajasthan Royals on Monday in the 14th match of the Indian Premier League 2024. This match will be played at Mumbai’s home ground Wankhede Stadium. Before the start of the 17th season, Mumbai Indians had handed over the captaincy of the franchise to Hardik Pandya in place of Rohit Sharma. Fans are very angry with this decision of the franchise. Its hallmarks were seen even during the competition. Hardik Pandya is facing a lot of opposition from the fans during the Mumbai match.
Trolling Hardik can go south for the audience in the next match
Mumbai has to play its next match on home ground. Seeing the anger of fans towards Hardik, Mumbai Cricket Association (MCA) has taken strict steps to stop trolling. According to Lokmat Marathi report, MCA has increased security and spectators will be kept under strict vigil during the match. Anyone harassing or trolling Hardik will be detained. Such people can be thrown out of the stadium.
Mumbai has’n tasted victory yet
MCA has taken this step after MI’s consecutive defeats under Hardik’s captaincy. Any spectator who comments or raises slogans against Hardik during the match will be taken into custody. Mumbai Indians’ performance in IPL 2024 has been disappointing so far. The team had to face defeat in its first two matches. In the 5th match of the league, Gujarat Titans defeated Mumbai Indians by 6 runs. In their last match, Mumbai Indians lost by 31 runs at the hands of Sunrisers Hyderabad.
Hardik’s performance is under question
Hardik Pandya’s performance so far in IPL 2024 has not been anything special. Hardik had scored 11 runs against Gujarat Titans. Also, no wicket was taken for 30 runs in 3 overs. Hardik batted slowly while chasing a big target against Sunrisers Hyderabad. He had scored 24 runs on 20 balls. Hardik had proved to be very expensive in bowling also. He gave away 46 runs in 4 overs with an economy of 11.5.
