The 17th season of IPL 2024 has ended. There was a tough competition between all the 10 teams in 70 matches of the league. KKR team emerged as champion for the third time. There is to be a mega auction for IPL (IPL 2025) next year. For which auction can be prepared at the end of this year. BCCI has already started planning for that. A report has come out regarding the mega auction. In which it is told that what is the maximum number of players that franchises can retain.
Big disclosure regarding mega auction retention players policy
As we have come to know that there is to be a mega auction in IPL 2025. Before that, there is a question in the minds of the fans that how many players can be retained. It is clear from this that all the teams will have a chance to form a fresh team. But, meanwhile a report has come out.Let us tell you that a big revelation has come to light regarding the mega auction policy. BCCI has suggested using 3 players as written and 1 player as Right to Match (RTM).If the board sticks to this rule, some teams may be shocked by this. Because some franchises looked very balanced in IPL 2024.But, due to the rule of retaining only 3 players, other teams may keep an eye on their favorite player and by purchasing them, they will leave no stone unturned to harm the balanced teams.
How will the RTM card come to play?
Teams playing IPL can retain players in two ways. For example, the first option is that players can be retained directly. Second, through right to match. Now understand how it will be used. For example, under this rule of the BCCI, CSK can buy that player. Which he did not retain.Suppose, CSK has not retained Dhoni and Mumbai has bought Dhoni in the mega auction.Mumbai bought Dhoni with a huge bid, but CSK wants to keep their player back in their team.So what will happen in such a situation? In this situation, CSK will play the RTM card and pay that much money to Mumbai for Dhoni and will include Dhoni in its team.
