Ishan Kisan and Sreyash Iyer will probably lose their central contracts with the BCCI. Both players have taken leave from playing in the Ranji Trophy, which might cost them their contracts.
Both careers might end!
Sryeash has been ruled out from the Ranji tournament due to his back spasm and has been away from the field to recover before the IPL.On the other hand, Ishan has been away due to personal reasons. But it has been reported that he is being prepared for the upcoming IPL with Hardik Pandya.
Iyer holds a Grade B contract and Kishan has a Grade C contract with the BCCI. BCCI secretary Jay Shah has already warned the A-Lister cricketers that their prioritization of IPL over domestic cricket might cause them harm in the long term. The BCCI will take action on it.
Chief Selector Ajit Agarkar Finalized the list
According to Times Of India’s sources, the decision will be made public soon. Quoting from TOI, “The selectors, led by Ajit Agarkar, has almost finalized the list of centrally contracted players for the 2023-24 season too, which the BCCI will announce soon. Kishan and Iyer will likely be excluded from that list, as both haven’t played domestic cricket despite the BCCI’s diktat to do so“.
