Wicket keeper batsman KL Rahul played the responsibility of leadership on behalf of Lucknow Super Giants. Whereas the burden of captaincy for Chennai Super Kings is on the shoulders of Ruturaj Gaikwad. The coin toss fell in the camp of Lucknow. In the end, victory came only to LSG camp. Ajinkya Rahane played a stormy inning of 36 runs and Moeen Ali played a stormy inning of 30 runs. Mahendra Singh Dhoni also scored unbeaten 28 runs on 9 balls. Dhoni hit three fours and two sixes in his innings.
