Nitesh lost his leg in an accident at the age of 15
Nitesh Kumar may have dominated the sports world today by winning gold in the Paralympic Games, but very few people know his struggle behind achieving this success. When Nitesh was 15 years old, he lost his leg in a train accident in 2009. He was quite dejected due to lying on the bed.
Nitesh wanted to join navy like father
Nitesh’s father is a Navy officer. Nitesh’s dream was also to wear navy uniform like his father.But an accident broke his dream. But he did not lose. He fought the difficulties. While studying at IIT-Mandi, he got information about para badminton. Then this game became the source of his strength. Today this game has made his name reach every household across the country.

With the victory of Nitesh Kumar, the gold medal of SL3 category remained with India. Pramod Bhagat had won the gold of this event in Tokyo Paralympics.
