Before IPL 2024, 23-year-old all-rounder Abhishek Sharma of Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) is embroiled in controversies. The local police have sent a summons to Abhishek in the case of the suicide of Tania Singh, a famous model of Surat.
Tania Singh was a famous model and was also studying fashion design. He also had a good following on social media. According to media reports, 28-year-old Tania was originally from Rajasthan. Tanya’s father supports the family by working in a mill. Tanya has another brother. He committed suicide by hanging himself from the ceiling of the Happy Elegance Apartment on Vesu Road, Surat.
The police suspect a love affair to be the reason behind Tania’s suicide, when the police are checking the call details of her mobile phone, Abhishek’s name comes up and reportedly it was the cricketer who was on her last dialed list. There was no real contact between Tania and Abhishek for a long time. However, since he was his friend for a long time, he has been called for general questioning.
A glimpse of Abhishek’s cricket history
For the first time in the IPL, Abhishek Sharma became a part of Delhi Daredevils (Delhi Capitals) in 2018. After that, his explosive style caught the attention of other franchises. Sunrisers Hyderabad bought him the very next year. Since then he has been a part of SRH.
In 47 matches of IPL, he has scored 893 runs at a strike rate of 137.83, in which his highest score is 75 runs. He also has 9 wickets to his name in the IPL. Abhishek, while playing for Punjab against Tamil Nadu in the recent Ranji Trophy match, hit five sixes in an over. He has become the fourth Indian to achieve this hit.
