Neeraj Chopra of Panipat in Haryana gave new heights to javelin throw in India. He first earned fame by winning the Under20 World Athletics Championship in 2016. Then in 2018, he also won gold medals in the Commonwealth Games and Asian Games. His biggest achievement came in the Tokyo Olympics 2021 when Neeraj won the gold medal with a throw of 87.58 meters and became the first Indian to win an Olympic medal in athletics, that to gold. Neeraj then took his achievement to new heights by winning the silver medal in the Paris Olympics. Apart from this, Neeraj also became the first Indian to win the Gold and Diamond League of the World Athletics Championship.
