Tata Motors-owned luxury brand Jaguar Land Rover has announced the local assembly of its flagship models, Range Rover and Range Rover Sport, in India. These models are being produced for the first time outside of the United Kingdom. As a result, the price of the Range Rover SUV has been reduced by as much as Rs. 56 lakh. Additionally, there will be a significant reduction in the waiting period for these models. Let us know its details.
The domestically assembled Range Rover Autobiography variant gets a 3.0-litre petrol engine and the HSE variant gets a 3.0-litre diesel engine. Of these, the first engine powertrain generates power of 394 bhp and torque of 550 nm, respectively. Whereas, the second engine can generate power of 346 bhp and torque of 700 nm. Range Rover Sport, on the other hand, will be offered in Dynamic SE variant with petrol and diesel powertrain options.
Meanwhile, the delivery of Range Rover has started. However, customers planning to book the Range Rover Sport will have to wait until August 16, 2024, for deliveries to begin.
Talking about prices, Range Rover now starts at Rs 2.36 crore. Whereas, the price of Range Rover Sport is Rs 1.40 crore, the price of Range Rover Velar is Rs 87.90 lakh and the price of Range Rover Evoque is Rs 67.90 lakh. All these prices are ex-showroom.
Speaking on the occasion, JLR Chief Commercial Officer Lennard Hornik said that India has witnessed stable and robust economic growth in the last few years. Local manufacturing of Range Rover and Range Rover Sport in India is an important next step towards strengthening our position as the most advanced luxury SUV family in the country.
