ED summonsed Arvind Kejriwal for the fourth time in Delhi Liquor Case!

The Enforcement Directorate has summoned the  Chief Minister of Delhi Arvind Kejriwal once again. He has been summoned in the same Delhi Liquor Case. Enforcement Department has again called CM Kejriwal for questioning on January 18. Last time the CM of Delhi had decided to skip the ED summons for Delhi liquor policy case. Meanwhile he was campaigning in Madhya Pradesh ahead of the Assembly polls.

Delhi Liquor Case: ED’s fourth summon to Kejriwal!

Arvind Kejriwal was summoned by the ED in connection with the money laundering linked to the Delhi liquor policy case. The Delhi government had brought in a new policy for liquor sellers in the national capital in November 2021. The Kejriwal Government stopped government outlets from selling liquor and allowed private parties to apply for licenses to run stores. This is for the new policy. The new policy allowed liquor stores to stay open even after midnight and sellers to give any discounts with no limit. The Kejriwal government said the policy would help stop black marketing, increase the Delhi government’s revenue, and benefit customers.

Last time, ED sent the second summons on December 21 to question the DELHI CM in the liquor policy case. But that time he had left for the already scheduled Vipassana program. The Enforcement Department sent the third summons to CM Kejriwal on January 3. But he ignored that also. Enforcement Directorate just wants to inquire into the Delhi liquor scam. The Delhi Liquor case is related to the excise policy of 2021-22. Lieutenant Governor VK Saxena had recommended a CPI inquiry inthe  new excise policy in Delhi because fater that this policy was cancelled.

“The summon notice is illegal and politically motivated. The notice was sent at the behest of the BJP. Notice was sent to ensure that I am unable to go for election campaigning in four states. ED should withdraw the notice immediately,” Arvind Kejriwal said.
