Although in the partial results, which is now available late Friday, Sharif’s party has appeared to be behind his main rival! They are behind the party of jailed opposition leader Imran Khan!
As per recent Pakistani media reports, the provisional results, which was released by the Election Commission of Pakistan showed that independent candidates, who were mostly backed by former Prime Minister Imran Khan’s Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf party (PTI), are leading the poll results. the PTI-backed candidates had won 92 seats in the National Assembly. Nawaz Shareef’s PML-N had won 63 seats and Bilawal Bhutto Zardari’s Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) had won 50 seats.
