There has been a terrible earthquake in Japan. Japan was shaken by a strong earthquake on Thursday. The intensity of this earthquake that occurred in Japan was measured at 7.2 on the Richter scale. The epicenter of the earthquake was in Miyazaki, southern Japan. Officials have also issued a tsunami warning. The tremors of the earthquake were so strong that people got scared. After the earthquake, people were seen running out of their homes.
The Japan Meteorological Agency said the earthquake had a magnitude of 7.1 and its epicenter was at a depth of about 30 kilometers (18.6 miles) off the east coast of Kyushu, Japan’s southern main island. The agency has issued a tsunami warning. It predicted waves of up to 1 meter (3.3 ft) on the southern coast of Kyushu and the nearby island of Shikoku. Operators of nuclear plants in Kyushu and Shikoku said they were investigating whether they had suffered any damage. Japan’s NHK public television said there were reports of broken windows at Miyazaki Airport, near the epicenter.
Japan’s PMO has issued an advisory regarding the earthquake. Officials have been instructed to provide accurate information about earthquake-tsunami to the people promptly. An order has also been given to review the damage caused by the earthquake. Let us tell you that on January 1, more than 240 people were killed in the earthquake that occurred in Noto in the north-central region of Japan.
