Mpox virus has spread in 116 countries of the world. The World Health Organization (WHO) has declared it a global health emergency. A rash appears on the body of the person suffering from this. India is still safe
WHO said in its latest update that 27 cases of MPOX have been reported in India between January 2022 and June 2024. One person also died due to this virus. Health experts say that there is no possibility of any danger from this type of virus in India. There are some vaccines available which can treat it. Apart from this, the virus can be controlled by strict monitoring at international airports and timely identification of infected people.
Symptoms of Mpox?
A person suffering from mpox virus develops red rashes or mucosal lesions on the skin, which can last for 2-4 weeks. The patient may also have high fever, sore throat, headache, muscle pain, back pain, extreme tiredness and swollen lymph nodes i.e. lumps on the body. Most people with mpox recover completely, but some may become seriously ill.
What warning did WHO give?
The World Health Organization (WHO) has declared an emergency in view of the havoc of the Mpox virus. WHO said that in many countries there is a rise in cases related to this, keeping this decision in mind. Along with this, WHO has also instructed people to remain alert, so that the situation does not get worse in the coming days. Mpox is a viral disease, which usually spreads through person-to-person contact.Till now this type of infection has been seen in many people. It is a flu-like disease. It also causes pus filled rashes in the body.
