Delhi liquor policy case: ED sent summons to AAP leader Kailash Gahlot, called for questioning

The Enforcement Directorate has also summoned Aam Aadmi Party leader Kailash Gahlot in the Delhi liquor scam. ED has called him for questioning today itself. Kailash Gehlot is currently the Transport Minister in Delhi Government. Many AAP leaders including Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal have already been arrested in this case.

Kailash Gahlot is under the surveillance of ED

Recently, Delhi Transport Minister Kailash Gahlot had shared a poster of Kejriwal with the tagline ‘India with Kejriwal’. He wrote, “The entire country is standing with the son of Delhi. From Kashmir to Kanyakumari, voices are being raised in support of Kejriwal. The people of the country will not leave alone the staunch patriot who is changing the politics of the country.”

AAP’s national convenor Kejriwal was arrested by the ED on March 21 in a money laundering case related to Delhi Excise Policy and he is in the custody of the Central Investigation Agency till April 1. At the same time, Sisodia is lodged in Delhi’s Tihar Jail after being arrested in a money laundering case related to excise policy

Delhi Liquor Policy Case

The case pertains to alleged corruption and money laundering in the formulation and implementation of the Excise Policy of the Delhi Government for 2021-22. However, this policy was later canceled. The ED claimed in a statement that investigation revealed that Kavita along with others “conspired with top AAP leaders including Arvind Kejriwal and Manish Sisodia to gain benefits in formulating and implementing the Delhi Excise Policy.” The ED said it has raided 245 locations across the country since the case was registered in 2022 and arrested several people, including former Delhi Deputy Chief Minister and AAP leader Manish Sisodia, Sanjay Singh and some liquor traders.
