Train Climbs Platform at Mathura Station in UP Train Accident

A train, which was coming from Delhi Shakur Basti, accidentally climbed onto the platform at Mathura Station, Uttar Pradesh, and all the passengers de-boarded.

The accident was caused by a drunk worker!

This incident took place on Thursday night. The train was coming from Delhi and suddenly it got derailed. The train was an electrical multiple unit. According to reports, the train reached Mathura Junction at 10.49 pm, on Tuesday. After all the passengers got down from the train, it rolled down the track and climbed onto platform 2A before coming to a stop. Fortunately, there were no passengers present on the train when this accident took place. Chaos spread at the railway station after this accident and people started running out of fear. A small portion of platform 2A was damaged by this incident and trains were restricted from there, but other services are going on normally. The authority said that a woman received an electric shock and was treated for given first aid.

The investigation is going on. According to the Crew Voice & Video Recording System (CVVRS), after the train arrived at the platform, a staffer named Sachin entered the DTC cab (engine) while watching his mobile phone, said the report citing sources. an internal investigation report about that accident says that the drunk helper kept his bag on the throttle of the engine, which caused the accident. The PTI report says “It broke the dead end of the platform and half of the coach climbed onto the elevated portion of platform number 2, leading to the breakdown of OHE (overhead wire).” the report says that the investigation is still going on, on that person, “He has been sent for a medical test in which his blood sample will be taken to find out the exact level of alcohol consumption.” Divisional Railway Manager Tej Prakash Agrawal said, “We have suspended five persons and further detailed investigation is on,”.
