Manipur: 2 CRPF jawan got brutally killed in an attack!

Two CRPF jawan got brutally killed and two more jawans got severely injured when militants attacked the camp of security forces in Manipur’s Bishnupur district. This happened in the early morning of Saturday, according to the police. The militants attacked an India Reserve Battalion camp which was at Naranseina in Saturday Moirang.

The jawans who died were sub-inspector N Sarkar and head constable Arup Saini.

The militants fired indiscriminately from hilltops, targetting the camp. It started around 12.30 am and continued till about 2.15 am. The militants also hurled bombs, one of which exploded in the outpost of CRPF’s 128 battalion,” a senior police officer said to the reporters. He also informed that, the deceased jawans were identified as CRPF sub-inspector N Sarkar and head constable Arup Saini, he said. The injured jawans are inspector Jadav Das and constable Aftab Das. It has been reported that they received several splinter wounds.

The attack happened at midnight around 2:15 am, it was mainly targeted for CRPF jawans from the 128 Battalion who were stationed in the Naransena area of Bishnupur district. The injured jawans have been rushed to RIMS hospital which is in Imphal for treatment. Meanwhile manipur’s Chief Electoral Officer, Pradeep Kumar Jha said, “As of the latest update received about an hour ago, voter turnout stood at approximately 75 percent with no significant disruptions reported.” He compared this current elections to the 2019 polls and expressed satisfaction! According to Jha, this year’s poll is being relatively peacefully conducted, with  minimal disturbances.
