Bhartiya Janta Party or BJP had announced him as their candidate from the Asansol seat of West Bengal. But the actor has announced that he won’t be participating in the lok sabha elections 2024. But what is the actual reason? Is this because of some inner politics? Did the actor get scared?

Pawan Singh denied BJP’s offer to participate in loksabha elections 2024!

“I express my heartfelt gratitude to the top leadership of Bharatiya Janata Party. “I thank the BJP leadership for trusting me and announcing my name as the candidate from Asansol, but I won’t be able to contest the election for some reason,” Pawan Singh has expressed his feelings in a post on X. Pawan Singh has decided to drop out from the Lok Sabha elections 2024 due to personal reasons. But this is a huge setback for BJP. Many has pointed this to his discography, because those has several songs with objectionable references to Bengali women.

The Asansol Lok Sabha seat is now has been replaced by Trinamool Congress’s Shatrughan Sinha. Mr Sinha was elected in a 2022 bypoll. This was happened when the singer-politician, Babul Supriyo, who won the seat for the BJP in the 2014 and 2019 general elections, switched to the Trinamool. Trinamool’s national general secretary Abhishek Banerjee has said that this pullout was a result of “the indomitable spirit and people of the people of West Bengal”. Party leader Derek O’Brien also said, “This is Khela Hobe even before the khela begins.”

Trinamool’s newly elected Rajya Sabha MP Sagarika Ghose has claimed that the actor has backed out because he is scared that his “sexist misogynist videos” would backless at him in this matter. She has tweeted, “Breaking news. All India Trinamool Congress impact! BJP Asansol candidate withdraws after huge backlash on the candidate’s sexist misogynist videos. The BJP’s ‘nari shakti’ call in Bengal now lies in tatters, revealed for what it is–hollow and meaningless.”
